How to create a new window from a java app

I want to create a new window from a java application.

My main class is a JFrame with many components. So when start my application, one window corresponding to this JFrame is displayed.

Now apart from this window, I want create one more window which can hold some other components.

Can anybody please help me out on this.

What's stopping you from creating another JFrame and showing it?

Either that, or a JDialog. The latter won't appear in the task bar, and can be made modal (that is, it can block the parent window while it's open, if you like).

To create a new JFrame...

JFrame frame = new JFrame( "my frame" );
frame.setDefaultCloseOperation( JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE );
frame.setSize( 400 , 400 );
frame.setVisible( true );
