Ours is a typical three tier client server application, we are using a lot of modified JAVA gui components, where we had to spend lot of hours solving many issues, many of them related to compliance with java versions. Now we are looking for readymade or open source alternatives to integrate into our software so as to avoid this type of issues in the future. Any help in this regard is most welcome, like suggestions for any 3rd party library or IDE providing its own library or framework altogether. we are using RMI ,java client(Applet)connecting to the Server. Components include Combo Box, Date Picker,Table,Tree etc which can be easily customized.

Welcome to the Ranch.

The only component I can think of offhand is a date bean from a German chap called Toedter. Click here.
