Threads in this forum are getting closed before the discussion is over.

Is this supposed to be discussion threads?

I am not sure whether the concept changed, Currently the concept is like question answer broadcast. The seeker is not getting chance to compare between available options.

Sheriffs and Bartenders Please evaluate your current strategy.
If a thread is moved to another forum please put a link to it from the old forum.

They're not being closed; they're being moved to a more appropriate place.

I'm going to move this to the "JavaRanch" forum, which is where discussions about site policies belong. When I do, this thread will get a little "closed" icon, and there will also be, at the top of this page, an ENORMOUS link that says "This thread has been moved..." and gives a link to the exact new location.
