hi

i do have a cardpanel and on that pane i have two panes i want one of the two pane to be transparent how can i achieve this.

When you say card pane I presume you are using the card layout.
Typically you add panels to display the various "tab" components. To make these panels transperant, call panel.setOpaque(false).

Any reason why you are not using the JTabbedPane?
