I just wanted to announce that I'm trying to organize an open-source project for a structured drawing program. Probably the most famous of this type of program is Microsoft Visio™, though it's not the first of its type (think MacDraw, for example). There are have been open source attempts to make a Visio-like program available on non Microsoft-OS platforms, but I, for one, have not been impressed with any of them and the amount of low-level rewriting it would take to add what I want is too much. I'm looking for volunteers who are proficient in Swing and GUI design as well as for people who are proficient in the use of vector-style image rendering techniques (the UI and the drawing parts of the app are distinct functions). For anyone interested, you can find out more on the project Website at http://mtsdraw.mousetech.com - There are some preliminary design docs and a project mindmap there. And, of course I'm available to answer any questions - just email me via my JavaRanch email address.

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.
