I want to create a tree that expands from left to right.It should also expand and collapse....I searched google but could not find a solution...can somone help me in this by giving some idea

not like that, it sounds like you are hoping to get response without trying yourself first. let us show what you have done so far?

It's not the moderator's job to answer questions. Especially when it's obvious that you're unaware of HowToAskQuestionsOnJavaRanch, e.g. PatienceIsAVirtue. In case you haven't noticed: you didn't pay anything when you signed up for this site. So your expectations of an all-volunteer effort could do with some readjustment.

As to your question, what should that UI control do that JTree doesn't?
