How to communicate with servlets from Swing...

Is it possible for a swing client to get a hashmap from a servlet. If so how to do that, can anyone help me on this. I am calling a servlet from a swing class, I need to get a hashmap from the servlet.

You can definitely pass objects (serialized) to and from Servlets.
