Can we have the forum related to Meaningful Sense, as oppose to Meaningless Drivel ?
This way, we can discuss the useful things whenever required.

This is mostly my opinion, but:

No. Firstly this is a Java site and most of the content focuses on Java and related areas. The MD forum is designed as a place for people to let their hair down and relax. There are other sites available for discussions on meaningful topics.

Also, meaningful conversations get out of hand quickly and cause additional work for people to keep track of and moderate. The staff are all volunteers and donate our time to the site. I for one do not like the idea of more work from irate people. We have enough issues already when we close or move topics.

Mainly, I see it as a distraction from the Java idea that would detract from the community atmosphere that we try to maintain.

We already have 69 forums in which you can discuss meaningful stuff in addition to the one Meaningless Drivel forum.

Here's an idea.

Maybe we can create a forum that permits this kind of discussion. But! To be able to post to the forum, you have to pay $100. Every time a moderator has to edit what you write, you lose $25 (approxiamtely one pizza) to that moderator. Complaining about losing a pizza costs a pizza and your complaint is possibly removed.

Anybody can read the forum. But only those that have at least one pizza in the bank can post.

Just an idea.
