Can't seem to get the metal look and feel to antialias text. Anybody know how to do this?

Thanks!

  • What version of the JDK are you using?
  • And what platform are you using it on?

  • JDK6 inherits anti-aliasing from operating system settings. JDK 5 has a command line option to enable anti-aliasing: -Dswing.aatext=true. Anything else would probably require customizations to the look and feel.

Have a MacBook Pro with latest op system and latest jre. The metal look and feel text looks so bad as to be unusable!
