Hi Folks,

We're pleased to announce the release of a new development version of Jess, the rule engine for the Java platform, available for download in the usual location:

http://www.jessrules.com/download.shtml

Jess 7.1a1 is the first alpha release of Jess 7.1. The major new feature in this release is "peering". Any number of Jess instances can now share a single rule base, leading to much faster startup and reduced memory usage for systems in which multiple engines run the same rules on differing data. We're especially interesting in feedback regarding this feature.?

Other planned Jess 7.1 features are not yet present in this release and will
appear in subsequent alpha releases.
