How to run a servlet in Tomcat

I have been able to start Tomcat in Win 98 and run the examples. I am not being able to run a Hello Servlet which I wrote because -
1. In which directory should I put the class file ? Tomcat is in directory c:\tomcat.
2. What should I enter as the URL address ?
I am very new to servlet. I will be grateful if someone can help me.
