I am want to write a servlet/jsp which on selecting the view option shows a non-editable (view only) html form. is there anything in javascript, html or java through which i can make all the fields on the form non-editable.

You can use readonly=true for making form uneditable.
<input type='text' maxlength='30' name='name' size='20' value='Adam' readonly=true >"
