i'm making a web copier as my project using servlets,jdbc etc.

just for future reference what is a web copier?

Theres a button called 'brightness' but it doesn't work

web copier as far as i know is, it copies web sites from the web, make a copy on your personal harddisk for ur future reference. and u dont have to connect to the net all time you wish to surf that web site. spersonally i use it to copy websites that contain tutorials. the web copier helps me download all paegs n all graphics n all related stuff, i dont have to copy each n every graphic or so, and also it keeps the same hierarchy. i guess it explains wat web copier is. thanx

I also heard of it. In fact once I was in need of such one. But couldn't get one. Can you tell us what web copier you are using and whether it is available for free or we can buy it like that.
once I was in need of getting ALL company details , bu arranged state wise in the main page. That time I really felt the need for the one which you just said.

nice to see ur msg maha anna , anyway the best that i liked is WEBZIP, pretty cool, the only prob is that its not free. the evolution copy lets u copy about 50 pages only, so u can try it also look for the serial number in some hackin website to make it a registered copy. i am not using any for now. i hope this can help, thanx

IE has one of those its sort similar if you add the item into your favorites right click on the favorites make avalible offline would work.

I was working on a related project some time back. I think its not difficult to download a site, its a kind of limited spider. For those trying to build one, one interesting article is "Anotomy of a large scale Search Engine" by Lawrence Page.
Actually Data Mining is a field of study in its own right and its interesting what all you can do apart from just downloading each and every site. For eg. its possible to down load all sites related to a specific topic, or gather data about a specific topic on the internet. Best of luck guys..
