I am calling a servlet from inside a frame..but the problem is that the output from the servlet is also directed to this particular frame...how can i redirect it to any other frame or say have it display on "top"

The Java Ranch has a naming policy, described here and "manav k" is not a valid name. Please choose one which meets the requirements.
Thanks.

The way to direct the output from a servlet to another frame or window is to use the "target" attribute of the <a> and <form> tags. For example
<a href="/servlets/something" target=_top>Do It</a>
"_top" is a special name indicating the overall frame for the current window. Otherwise you may use the name of any window or frame that the browser knows about.
