SOrry for yet another installation question, but I'm stuck and frustrated. I got Tomcat to work on my computer at home, but here at work I use the same assignments for CLASSPATH, PATH, JAVA_HOME, and TOMCAT_HOME, but no luck. Here's what happens: When I type "startup" at the DOS prompt, a new DOS window opens for about 1/2 a second, and then closes. During that 1/2 a second I can read only the first few words that pop up in that window: "Failed reading value of registry key". I'm pretty new to java and very new to JSP. Anyone have an idea what's wrong?
thanks!

I was changing a few things in tomcat a while back, and when I tried to start it the window would pop up for only half a second, but i didn't try to read anything. It may have said the same thing. I found out that it was an error in the server.xml file. If you have changed it make sure that it is error free and you have no conflicting file paths. That was my problem.
