Hi, I have a question about servlets that set Authorization headers. I have a servlet that loads passwords as a Properties object, authenticates against the header values from Authorization, and setStatus to SC_UNAUTHORIZED if authentication failed. However, I get 503 error on tomcat if another servlet does the same thing, using the same password.properties file. Can anyone please explain to me what is wrong?
Thank you.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
