Hi what is "extra path"? And how is it specified?
Thanks.

Bob, the "extra path" is used to indicate a file on the server that the servlet should use for something. This path information is usually encoded in teh URL of an HTTP request or in the ACTION parameter of an HTML form. You can use the getPathInfo()and getPathTranslated() methods to determine what the extra path is.

As an example, consider the following URL:
http://www.something.com/myapp/view/fred/jim/ugh.xml
and imagine that the a web application is mapped to "/myapp" and has a servlet mapped to "view" within it. The extra path information would be the "fred/jim/ugh.xml".
