how to set upTomcat in Unix enviroment

If you have set up tomcat in an unix environment, kindly provide detailed instruction of how to do that or provide a link? Thanks

In a short way, download the tar file and extract the files.
Its no different from a Windows installation.
Keep in mind that you need to define the TOMCAT_HOME and
JAVA_HOME env variables (check out your .login or .profile file).
Go to the TOMCAT_HOME\bin directory and start tomcat.
Also, use ls -l for directory list not dir..... ....just kidding.....
