response.sendRedirect() not performing

can anybody suggest me a way for redirecting a client to some other url.
i'm using response.sendRedirect(url) in my jsp.
but it doesn't work.
this problem i've faced every time i tested my codes on Linux platform, no matter what web server or jsp engine i'm using
i'm very depressed
please help me

I was having the same problem, but have since got it to work. Could you supply a snippet of your code.

No need to get depressed case it is not a problem, u can use forward in case sendredirect is not'll be better in case u can put up the xceptions that u are getting...

when my jsp page is processed and the time it processes the sendRedirect() method then my browser says page not found the message that is displayed when your connection with the server is timed out.
it doesn't gives any exception.
