how can i overcome the url problem when i redirect using jsp:forward the url doesn't change in the browser

That's a feature, not a bug
That's by design and I personally don't consider it a problem.
The browser has not requested a new page so how can it have a different URL displayed?
But response.sendRedirect() will actually tell the browser to request another page and as such will show up in the browser URL box.

i came upto jsp:forward only when i couldn't solve the problem the sendRedirect was creating for me.
