I have a JSP page with a form. It used to work fine until I added a link that opens a new window. Now when you close the new window and try to post from the form you get a blank page.

dont worry about this:
onClick="location.replace('Watchdog.html')"
it never worked but never caused any problem either.

Maybe there's a conflict with OnClick and Posting. Why not use callPage in the checkout servlet to call watchdog.html?
I would have to try myself to make sure whether that is a valid work around.

I could try eliminating the onclick code but it never caused a problem before(it just didnt work). The problem didnt occur until I added this line:
<p>Before you go let me introduce my <a href="wife.html" target="outside">wife</a>
thanks for the suggestion though.

Well since it IS a JSP(not html) page I could pop up a frame instead of opening a new browser.But how would I change this to java code?

I think it would be a bit of work
