As uber Java advocates, why do you use a BB written in CGI perl etc. Come on surely Java would do much better job! mo

mo Maybe we can start a project, in which all java-ranchers may participate, for converting the site to java (jsp/servlets/ejb/javamail). Of course, otherwise the site appears to be working fine. Why fix what aint broke (or something to that effect).

Before you leap into this, make sure you check out two things: 1. Find out in detail what people like/don't like/use about the UBB software. 2. Find out what others are available. There are several quite capable Java Bulletin Boards available. Once you are happy that you have got everything you need from 1 and 2 above, why not start a project somewhere like Sourceforge.net which offers free collaboration services for open source projects. Mention your project here once you have that set up, and keep us up to date with status reports from time to time. We are happy to support such endeavors (without any guarantee of using the end product, though), but the one thing we prefer not to have is a huge list of "me too" posts from people who would like to join in. Please publish an email or web address for interested parties, and then we will lock this thread. Thanks.
