Hi, I'm new to JSP and I have a problem. 1)I have a Login JSP page(Login.jsp) where a user can type in his/her username and password into a form and hit the submit button. The action when the submit button is clicked is to check the username and password against the database and let the user know if they have successfully logged in or not. This process takes place in the (Verify.jsp) page, and there is a retry button on this page to allow users to return to the login page to retry loggin in.the problem is when the Verify.jsp page is displayed, if i click refresh/reload on the browser, the browser displays a popup message saying: "This page cannot be refreshed without resending the information, Click retry to send the info again or click cancel to return to the page you were trying to view" Does anyone know why this is so? And how can it be fixed? Thanks rui
Hi Rui, This happens normaly, and this message is displayed by the browser automatically . note that the form contains a user info so it could not be refreshed without resending those info. but if you click "Retry" the info are going to be sent again. Why do you think that this is a problem? I don't think that it is . Note: Iam developing such a system that needs also a user name/password form. Would you mind telling me what are you using in the client side? only Html? and what are you using to connect to a database?

Hi Jim, The verification page I had just told the user whether they had logged in successfully or not. There is no reason to hit the reload/refresh button on the browser, but I thought there was some way to prevent the popup message appearing if someone did click the reload/refresh button. The retry button, directs the user back to the Login page where they can try to log in again.I think you misinterpreted my meaning of retry, or maybe I should rename the button. I,m creating an e-commerce web site. The Login page is for employees. It enables them to log in and administor their database from within the web page. I'm using Java Server Pages. I'm new to it. I'm doing this has a project for my final year in college. Because it's a project and the site won't be live, I'm using MS Access as my database. I'm connected to it by using the JDBC-ODBC bridge driver. It's pretty easy to get a connection set up. If you want more info, let me know. thanks Rui
