How to display an image or text like "searching... please wait" while the jsp page is getting data from database and the page take more than 1 min to show. I am invoking java class from a jsp page, using database connection in java class. so, while getting values from java class file into a jsp page, I need to display an image like "searching.... please wait.." and after getting the values from java class, the image should disappear and the results should display. I will appreciate if anyone helps in this. thanks,

Hey i dont know about JSP,
But In HTML u can do like this
<input type='text' name='t8' size='30' readonly='true'
style= 'background-color: rgb(192,192,192); color: rgb(0,0,0); font-family: Lucida Handwriting; font-size: 15pt; border: medium none'>
This will create a textbox with no borders and readonly.
Later u can Call a Function like
<input type = submit onclick='DispMsg()' >
<script language='java script' TYPE='text/javascript'>
function DispMsg {
document.cmsbnk.t8.value='Generating. Please Wait ....!';
} </script>
Hope u got this

"chandubcs",
The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp . We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in with a new name which meets the requirements.
Thanks.

I once found a web page that discusses this. Try searching for "jsp + servlets + wait page"
