64k method size limit

Has anyone hit the 64k method size limit when using a lot of custom tags?
The code that converts your JSP to a JAVA file puts all the code into the _jspService method. Each custom tag uses ~ 30 lines of Java, and if you have enough of them you hit JAVA's 64k method size limit.
I can't use jsp:include to split the page up as I have a custom tag surrounding the whole page and get an error saying 'Cannot use jsp:include inside a custom tag.
Has anyone found a way around this problem?
