We have been practicing (and learning) servlets on Windows 2000 machines. We have some experience with Apache and have been trying to use it with this operating system. For some reason, probably because of the NT framework, it doesn't work. Can not get it to run. Are there other, easy to use, servers for servlets and JSP that are free for download. The main thing is that it needs to be free for download since we are only using it for training purposes.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom.
Here's a good place to start: http://www.servlets.com/engines/index.html
Good luck.

Hello again Tom.
I run Win2000 and use j2ee which includes Tomcat. It's free and works great.
Just another thought.

Apache works fine for me on Windows 2000 Server. But if I were going to experiment with JSP and servlets I think I'd look into using Jakarta Tomcat 3.3 on IIS (the web server that comes with Windows 2000). Check out Tomcat documentation at:
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-3.3-doc/index.html
and in particular the Tomcat IIS Howto at:
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-3.3-doc/tomcat-iis-howto.html

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
