I have a typical question. I need XLM data only to be processed in my JSP. I mean the fields in my JSP should be fed with XML data can anybody suggest me. Should I use XSL to display the GUI of the JSP which would convert the data to XML, or tell me some other design, Im new to XML, XSL or JSP
Thanks

Hai Laloo,
If you just want to produce an XML out put using your JSP it very simple
Set the content type of your JSP page as text/xml and your JSP page can begin like this
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
<%@ page contentType="text/xml" %>
//here write any of your jsp code which can contain your own tags

I just want to know is there any body call my bean's Getter and Setter methods with "Please" in front - My favorite quip from Bugzilla

Thanks for replying Anoop, but my question is not to output XML data but to insert the XML data. Infact my requirement is that my JSP's are to be accessed by a Siebel System. . The Siebel System imports and exports XML data. So I had a design in my mind. That we'll use the JSP gui using XML XSL. So tough it would look like HTML fromt end but actually it would be XML. Can we do that ?

I am also interested in the question above. I have JSP which uses html to display the contents. Instead of HTML, how could i use XML to display my data. So it will be like embedded JAVA code(for dynamic objects/elements) in the XML tags. Is it a possibility??

Hai Anurag,

I am little bit confused about your requirement
1) Do you just want to display the response(in XML format from Siebel System) directly to an user
2) Siebel System provide you some data as an XML file you have to read the data and create an html file to display your information

I hope most probably your situation will be in (2) because now XML is widely used for EDI in B2B transactions

In this case you must you an XML Parser to parse the information from an XML file and put the data to your jsp to make the final output to the user

XML Parsing is not a complicated procedure just you must understand the DOM .Sun has implemented Java API for XML Parsing(JAXP).& Apache has developed
very reliable XML parser which you can download from their site. Now you have to write a parser(Your own java application using the apache parser packages) which meant for your application
You will get millions of references online for coding an XML parser

Best wishes
