Couple of thing I would ask are:
Do you have a corresponding field in your DB Table (INSERT_PLANS refers to?
Do you reach the stmt

String plantitle = getPlanTitle();
System.out.println("plantitle " + plantitle);

in your recordPlans() method?
If so, what is the output?
Please let us know when you get a chance.

ps:
When you use the code tags, don't put spaces between "["
code keyword and "]". You can find details of the
tags using the UBBCode link. Appreciate for your attempt. If you want to fix it,
you could edit your earlier post. If I had the magical powers,
I would have done it for you...

Yes, i do have a corresponding field and I am not reaching that statement at all.It just keeps throwing that error - no matter where i place my 'Sytem.out.println' line.So don't know how to debug.

okay, in that case, I would first test the bean by itself.
I mean, writing an application. Write a helper class with
String data. Then call your bean with this data from
a main() method and see if the bean works. Atleast if
this gives a different (more elaborate) error msg then
hopefully, we could understand the problem better.
Sorry I couldn't locate the error looking at the code...
