i cannot seem to run javawebserver2.0 in my new environment - running windows98 and ie5. i have it on my c: drive in c:\javawebserver2.0. and in dos, i went to the directory c:\javawebserver2.0\bin\httpd. but when i go to the browser and type http://localhost:8080/index.html, i get the following message:
"Browser Error - Your Browser sent a malformed request"
the same goes for any html file in the public_html directory of javawebserver2.0.
and when i type http://localhost:9090, i get the following:
"Socket error - Connection refused by Remote Host"
any ideas?

when i type http://localhost:9090, i get the following...
try http://<machine_name>:9090 instead.
Also, check the port 8080 or 9090 ?

ps: you are better off switching to Tomcat instead.

Hai!
In Java Security policy file, grant all rights to localhost. This might solve ur problem.
