The simplest way is using a servlet. The servlet will connect to database via JDBC, and you can actually number each posts. And then you can call up say, 10 posts at a time. When you display these 10 posts, you iterate through them.

Actually the SIMPLEST way is to search for an existing program to do that! There's quite a few around. Check sourceforge.net and freshmeat.net for a start.
