Three young women, Rose, Daisy and Iris gather at a function. The woman wearing the rose corsage said, "I just noticed that the flowers in our corsages match our names, but none of us are wearing a flower that matches our own name." "Wow!" said Iris ,"You're right!" Given these clues, can you identify who is who in the description above? [ January 05, 2004: Message edited by: HS Thomas ]

Mani, not quite the answer I've seen. As Tanga said supplying the reasoning will enable us to double check all round.
the first woman to speak is not Rose, because she is wearing a rose. So, she is either Daisy or Iris. But, Iris answers with "wow, you're right". so, the first woman to speak is not Iris. So, she must be Daisy. Daisy is wearing the rose. that leaves Rose and Iris, who are wearing a daisy and an iris. Iris is not wearing an iris, so she must be wearing the daisy. that leaves Rose to wear the iris.
Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.
