In my project, there is a need to send in the results of a computation on a XML file to a servlet and do some processing in the servlet. Could somebody please tell me how I could read the XML file in a servlet. As I am new to servlets, it would be great if somebody could give me an example of how to read XML documents into a servlet, or point me to a link

The Apache SOAP project does lots of XML manipulation inside servlets. It is really pretty simple. Basically you just get an getInputStream on the HttpRequest and feed that stream to a XML parser.
see xml.apache.org for LOTS of xml related stuff including SOAP
