I have iplanet 4.1 webserver
I am using session in my application.
If the client's date is ahead of the server, the server is creating a new session for every request.I mean even if the user moves to the other screen, its not retaining the earlier session.I am using session to store user's information like username and password, etc

i dont have a solution for this problem but i have similar prob which i think is associated to sessions..
please correct me if i am wrong
my application resides in a server at some place and i am accesing it from some other place which is 2 & 1/2 hrs lagging from the server place.
My application includes navigation thru different html forms generated through servlets.
A particular form has got some complex business logic which takes a long time and so the time interval to reach the new form takes some timewhich is around 30-40 secs for a machine.
but in one of my machine it takes a bit long ( 90 secs ) and then the page throws a Null Pointer Exception
is it that the time difference between two countries could cause this problem and is anyway session TimeOut related to this ?

Hi Guys,
well I am not sure about iplanet, i have actually worked with Weblogic and JRun and i never faced such a problem and i actually worked with time line differrences about 6 hours. What i believe is that, you gotta check your code how you are creating the session in coding. whether you are creating a new session in each page. This is just a wild guess. Anyway way there should be a way out.
All the best,
