Hi,
I have a JSP page which has a help button on it. On clicking the button, I want to pop up another small window that contains some HTML text and am having problems doing that. I get the following error
Error 500
An error has occured while processing request:http://veni:8080/servlet/start.html
Message: Server caught unhandled exception from servlet [invoker]: Servlet [start.html]: Could not find required servlet class - start.html.class
I think it is trying to compile the HTML as JSP too, I tried renaming my start.html to start.jsp eventhough there is no jsp code in it still no luck. Attached below is my code...please advise!
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
function newwin(){
win=window.open('start.html');
}
<!-- Hide this script from incompatible web browsers -->
</SCRIPT>
.
.
.
<INPUT TYPE="button" TITLE="Help" NAME="HLP" ID="HLP" VALUE="?" onClick="newwin();">
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance
VV

Instead of
win=window.open('start.html');
put win=window.open('http://veni:8080/start.html');
Put your .html file outside the web-inf/classes folder and link it with an absolute url, rather than a relative url and try !
