if i want to create a databse application whihc runs on the browser, can i do it by just using jsp or do have to use servlets?
wd this make life easier??

put your business logic in JavaBeans and use them straight from your JSP's.
Avoid business logic code in your JSP's... Only put short snippets of java and use tags to the full extent

that's my advise

Actually, I would suggest using Servlets and JSP's together (e.g. a Model-II or MVC architecture) to make the most of reusable assets and also to put some sanity in your JSP coding.
Take a look at the "Core J2EE Patterns" book or see Martin Fowler's patterns at http://www.martinfowler.com/isa/ to get a good idea.

well mostly javabeans/jsp solution should suffice your requirement if the application is not too large or complex. For more complex requirements jsp/servlets/javbeans or in short MVC would be a suitable solution.Handling resultsets and connection in jsp is really tedious to say the least
