How to restrict the user logging into my site twice from the same place or different

Hi, I have to restrict the user from signing twice to my site from the same place or from another place. I would like you give functionality similar to Yahoo/MSN messenger, when the user logs in for the second time. In my applicatin I am able to catch the user when he logs in second time, and giving a message to the user about the relogin. But I want to close the previous session of the user, so that the user can continue working at this place. Any ideas/advices on how to do this.

As far as I know... there's really no way to invalidate a session simply with the Session ID. Check out this thread for more info on that --> http://www.javaranch.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=7&t=007076
HTTP is a stateless protocol, I don't believe what you want to do is possible. -- Maybe look into applets or signed applets with full permission -- maybe you can do something there with what you want.
