Hi, Our product consists of JSPs, Servlets and some native C++ code. Can some one please explain what 'packaging' means, when I want to create a tarball of this product? I would really appreciate some pointers to this. I've looked at some Unix books, but couldn't find relevant material. Thanks for all the help. -Asuthosh.
Hello Asuthosh - Packaging in this context means a lot more than using tar. Servlets are usually set up in what's known as a WAR (Web ARchive), or a JAR file with a particular kind of manifest (aka deployment descriptor). The best place to get this question answers is in the Servlets forum. I know a little about it but dont use it all the time; those guys more than likely to. I'll recommend to the local Bartender that he move this for you (i.e., please don't post a second time there). [ January 04, 2002: Message edited by: Michael Ernest ]
