Hello again,

Several questions regarding Lisp:

  • Does anyone at JavaRanch know Lisp?
  • What's the best one (implementation / version) to use for learning on OS X Tiger and WinXP?
  • What is it used primarily for?
  • What are its advantages / disadvantages?
  • Any recommendations for a good book or online tutorial?

  • Many, many thanks!

I've been using Scheme, which is very close to Lisp, on and off. There's a Java implementation available here.

A good starting point for more information might be this web site, which also contains a list of Lisp implementations .
    I agree. Here's the link:

    It's not a secret anymore!
