Is it possible to change the time out value of sessions at runtime?

Consulting the servlet API documentation we find this method in the HttpSession class:
setMaxInactiveInterval( int seconds );

In some app servers you can set the servler expiration time by setting the properties.
Like Weblogic:
weblogic.httpd.session.timeoutSecs=12000
weblogic.httpd.session.invalidationIntervalSecs=6000
