Hello JAVA Whizs...
Can anyone tell me how well JAVA goes with
MS SQL server.
What I need to do is to setup a JDBC connection from my JAVA servlet to
access MS SQL Server database.
Can anyone tell me the sample code required for
achieving my goal.
Thanks a lot,
Nishant

I would assume (feel free to correct me if I am wrong) that as long as you have JDBC drivers for SQL Server, you should be fine. The JDBC drivers job is to abstract how the calls work with the actual DB, so there should be no difference.
Of course, with any DB, you may need to learn that flavor of SQL, but they are all basically the same with minor differences.

Hello Ken,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I fully support your point of view that if I have a JDBC driver then I can set up a connection between database and client app.
By any chance do you know what is the JDBC driver to connect to MS SQL Server. I just checked MS SQL Server directory\bin to find out that there is no .jar driver file.
DO I need to download it from some site or what??
Thanks once again,
Nishant

MS SQL JDBC
It's amazing what you find when you type in a search in Google.
