hi friends,

how to set the session life time? in my application i want to make session is active when the user signed in .then i want to deactive my seesion when he logout. how to keep the session object as long as alive?
please send me reply ...

One way to find out about "session timeout" is by doing a search in javaranch forums.
Well here is a sample session timeout discussion for you.
And about creating/destroying sessions - request.getSession(true) will create one for you and HttpSession.invalidate() will destroy it for you.
