Hello everyone,
One of our clients is interested in providing training sessions to their client throught webcasts. However, i do not know how the technology works. Can anyon eprovide pointers to any source of information that will help me in understanding the technology better. Thanks for your time.

They might find it cheaper to buy rather than build webcast technology. The company that owns LanWrights (I work for LanWrights), named iLearning, is just now releasing a new generation of their webcast product - I saw a demo the other day, pretty impressive.
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
