When I receive a request, on doing request.getCharacterEncoding() it always returns null, is there any means to set the encoding of the request object at jsp level itself ?
Thuogh it can be done at servlet level using setCharacterEndoing etc. .. Or is that request always comes in null encoding ?

I haven't worked with what you ask in particular, but the HttpServletRequest object is present in the JSP as the implicit request object.
