Servlet Filter for logging

Can anybody provide me with sample code to use Servlet Filter Technology for logging every request received by my servlet as well as logging the response Stream.
The input request is in the form of an XML and same is the case with the output.

It helped a lot although there is no direct example of what I am looking for.
