There are two Java APIs, URL and URI. But I can not distinguish them by reading the documentation. So, under what circumstances should we use URL? URI?

Hi Pitts -
Welcome to JavaRanch! One thing we like is to make sure everyone uses a proper screen name. Here's our policy for your review. Thanks for helping us maintain our site appearance.
The answer to this question will appeal to a lot more people than this forum typically attracts. It makes more sense to me to put this in Servlet/JSP, so I'm going to move it.
Regards,
Mike
