We are testing using Tomcat 4.1(standalone version). It has been correctly setup for SSL (8443 port). There is a Proxy between IE 5.0 and Tomcat 4.1 running on a remote machine. The JRE is 1.4.1 .
Now , the problem occurs when the server is accessed using Https url using a Proxy ,and gives the error(Access denied in the page ).By running a test applet to do the same, the error says:
"Unable to tunnel through proxy.Proxy returns Http/1.0 403 forbidden."
But the same when accessed without a Proxy has no problems at all (by showing the certificate before that)and even runs the test applet successfully.Note that the Http url works in all cases. Also ,other https sites can be browsed even using the Proxy. What is the cause, and how can it be resolved?.(any change in Server.xml/Web.xml ?)
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
