There you will find a link to the DTD documentation as well as a really nice diagram that ersin has created that shows the DTD in graphical representation.

And also check the technical documentation of your application server.
Sun documents their end of the deployment but many appservers have their own deployment descriptors as well for linking the standardised ones with appserver specific things like JNDI resources and URIs.
