Well each Application Server/Web Server have different directories for you to place your Web Application. Plus you can configure them to go to a different directory.

Hi Jain,
As said all the application server have thereown classes directory to store the application related class files. For example in weblogic server under applications directory/Default WebApp (or) your web application name /WEB-INF you have to create the classes directory and put your classfiles. Please check your Application Server specification.

WEB-INF/classes under the application directory is actually the standard way of doing things that most appservers will support.
where the application directory is declared (or expected) differs from server to server.
