FORM-BASED Authentication in a Frame. Is it possible to do it ?

Hi all,
I'd like to use form-based authentication with Tomcat.
My question is: is it possible to prompt for user-password (when accessing a protected resource) in a frame?
Unfortunately I can only see that frames disappear when prompting for a protected resource....
Thanks a lot
Francesco

I have a similar issue. We use Websphere with form based authentication. Our index.jsp (welcome page) is frame based and fails to load correctly if the user ommits the index.jsp at the end of the URL.
ie)
1 - If you simply specify the context root
http://hostname/contextRoot (or http://hostname/contextRoot/)
then the last frame within the index.jsp page will be returned after authenication (in full screen mode)
2- Although if you specify the full URL it all works fine
(eg) http://hostname/contextRoot/index.jsp

We have tried changing the security constraints in all sorts of combinations but without success.
We have even tried having a non-framed JSP as the Welcome page, that simply forwarded on to the framed page, but again no luck.
We can live with this (some Javascript hacking), but I would sure like to know what is happening.
Sorry I offered no solution, and just raised more questions...
