Hi,
I have a servlet that has a init() method which contains the following code

And I have a class/java program that does the database authentication (in the process of making one).
I plan to put some code in doPost() method that will call the class that does the database authentication,as described above.

My question is,should I put the code in the init() method above also in the java file which will be called by the doPost() method.
Hope that my question is rightly put.Hoping to hear from you all at the earliest.
Thanks in advance

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
